I love cooking. I’ts passion for me like photography. Also when I got bored or tired I either cook or take photos of anything I can see.
I’ve been experimenting on food like adobo coz i love eating adobo very much. It’s not actually my fave food but I love trying different recipes for adobo and ofcourse I need to taste it so now it’s one of my fave fud
The first recipe I got it from my papa. He loves to cook too. When I’m still a kid I watched him how he prepares the food and asked why he’s doing that certain thing and I comtemplated on it hehehe. And sometimes I also try it myself. One time I’m watching teysie ng tahanan it’s a noon time show that time and there’s a portion of that show for cooking. I could still remember that recipe. It’s about talong(egg plant). Not torta. You need to slice it into halves, scrape the meat and leave the covering? or the portion where u scraped the meat from coz you’ll be needing it later. That’s where you’re going to put the finish product and will serve as your plate So you need to cook the eggplant meat. seasoned it etc. I forgot the other details. After it’s cooked place it back on the boat shaped skin of it that you set a side. And that’s it. You’re done.
Hahahah. I served it on that day, lucnch time after watching that show. They didn’t like it poor little me.
Anyways, Im supposed to talk about the adobo.
OK. So the original recipe for adobo that I got from my father is this: Btw, It’s best to marinate the chicken with the engredients always.
- chicken(chopped in cubes or adobo cut)
- vinegar or calamansi /lemon juice(calamansi is better than vinegar)
- soy sauce
- laurel leaves(optional)
- potato(optional, chopped)
1. Mix all those engredients and use it to marinate the chicken except for the potato ofcourse. YOu need to put the potato when the meat is almost tender.
2. There are 2 ways of cooking it either u boil or sautee it. It’s up to you. If you’re kinda lazy you can juz boil it
3. So that’s it. So simple right.
Ok for the next engredient I learned it when I was at work. My officemate suggested that sprite is good for marinating meat. So added sprite for it.
WITH PINEAPPLE JUICE:
One time instead of using potato I wanted to try pineapple chunks. So I also used the pineapple juice instead of vinegar. Taste good
I got this from the pasibe’s helper, marife(my bf’s cousin’s helper). One summer the kids were visiting manila along with their helper. They stayed at my bf’s place. I came to visit the kids that night and it’s dinner time:) so I had the chance to dine with them. The smell of adobo from the kitchen was so delicious much more when we were already eating it. I’m thinking there’s something different from this adobo. And luckily the ginger landed on my mouth. Got yah! hehehe. I confirmed from marife that she uses ginger for adobo and I tell you it’s very delicious. In fact it’s one of the engredients for bulalo, nilaga, aroz caldo…
Ok. That’s the different versions of adobo Hope you’ll try it too
