effects of drinking java chip frappucino

May 17th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Health by dreamluverz

It already happened twice but this time the effect was so obvious and it’s evident. I could really felt it within my veins. Last time I had java chip frapp I slept very late but well, I guess that’s just because of the common effects of coffee(caffeine).

Normally I’m not hit by those kinds of things when drinking coffee. Anways, the other day I drunk java chip frapp and after an hour maybe I can feel my heart palpitated. I’m kinda getting so nervous and/or excited for no reasons at all. It didn’t just lasted for an hour but for HOURS. But not only that ‘coz this time I can’t really sleep even though I went to bed on my usual sleeping hour, yeah I know I have trouble sleeping since the year started but last night was a different story. I kept tossing and rolling over the bed for around 5 hours??? Imagine the time I’ve wasted!

On the other hand, it is clear that coffee is not for everyone. In excessive amounts - meaning more than whatever an individual’s body can tolerate - coffee can cause nervousness, jitters, and rapid heartbeat. - http://www.healingdaily.com/detoxification-diet/coffee.htm

I got 2 java chip here :P. One from starbucks and one from seattles. Btw, Last time It happened I had frap from startbucks and yesterday from seattles. Don’t you think seattles’ java chip frapp has more side effects on me? :P But really both tasted sooooooo good :)

BOOBS LENGTHENS MALE LIFE

May 3rd, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Health by dreamluverz

I bumped into this post and wanted to share with you all! ENJOY!

Boobs

The best German researcher ever has published in the New England Journal of Medicine that a study including 200 health men over 5 years, including 3 separate hospitals, has concluded that men looking at “busty women” for 10mins every day, will extend their lifespan by 5 years.

The actual statistics are surprising, as it’s said to be equal to 30-min of aerboic excercise:

“Just 10 minutes of staring at the charms of a well-endowed female such as Baywatch actress Pamela Lee is equivalent to a 30-minute aerobics work-out,” said author Dr. Karen Weatherby, a gerontologist.

benefits of red wine

March 17th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Health by dreamluverz

Awhile ago, I got this conversation with a friend with regards to wine. Not only with religious aspect but health wise, I don’t drink alcoholic beverages. Then this topic of benefits of drinking wine brought in the air. So I got some digging in the internet and found lots of articles and research done about this topic. Of course it must be taken into moderation, anyway too much of anything is NOT GOOD! I still need to do lots of readings about it and one of the articles I wanna share is from http://www.dumblittleman.com/2008/01/8-straight-benefits-of-red-wine.html

Wine is one of the oldest alcoholic beverages on the planet. Its history spans thousands of years and while heavy drinking of any alcoholic beverage rather brings lots of health-related troubles instead of benefits, current research suggests that a glass of red wine each day may be providing you with more than just a little relaxation.

  • Reduced risk of death from nearly all causes: European researchers suggest that moderate daily intake of red wine (22-32 g of alcohol) has a protective effect on all-cause mortality. According to studies from France, UK, Finland and Denmark, moderate consumption of wine is more beneficial than that of beer or spirits.

  • Smoking: Acute smoking significantly impairs vessels’ natural ability to relax, or vasodilate. Red wine, with or without alcohol, decreases the harmful effect of smoking on the endothelium - layer of cells that provide a friction-reducing lining in lymph vessels, blood vessels, and the heart.

ways to prevent laugh lines(wrinkles)

March 7th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Health by dreamluverz

All types of laughter/frown lines or wrinkles can be prevented with a few easy steps every day.

Number one: Gently massage your face for 10-20 minutes every day, dont know why but my make-up artist says it works

Number two: Drink between 8-10 glasses of water a day it gives you a clear complexion and cleans your pores as well as preventing wrinkles

Number three: Instead of rubbing of make-up or rubbing at your face dap gently with a sponge or cloth this also prevents laughter lines.

One thing that won’t work is facial exercises. They may actually worsen deep facial expression lines by thickening the muscles of expression. That´s why we use Botox!

Foods to prevent wrinkles

March 7th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Food, Health by dreamluverz

 1. BLUEBERRIES Blueberries and other berries are packed with powerful antioxidants called polyphenols. Eat one or more 1/2-cup servings daily; because berries are typically treated with a lot of pesticides, choose organic if possible.

2. KALE Like other greens, kale is rich in the antioxidant lutein and contains iron, which transports oxygen to your skin, and vitamin A, which helps prevent premature aging. Eat two or more 1/2-cup servings of kale or other greens a day.

3. RED PEPPERS Red or dark orange vegetables are loaded with the antioxidant vitamins A and E and bioflavonoids, which moisturize and heal your skin. Eat two or more 1/2-cup servings a day of red peppers, carrots, beets, or similarly colored veggies.

4. SALMON Salmon and other cold-water fish are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which hold off wrinkles by preventing inflammation and lubricating your skin. Eat a 3-ounce serving of these fish one to three times a week.

5. TOMATOES Tomatoes contain lycopene, a skin-friendly antioxidant that also reduces your cancer risk. Your body can better use lycopene if the tomatoes are cooked. Eat at least 1/2 cup of cooked tomatoes a day. –K.P.L.

Nurses at Risk Due to Chemical Exposure In Hospitals

December 14th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in Health by dreamluverz

Nurses may face health risks because of their unwitting exposure to typical hospital chemicals such as disinfectants, medication and radiation, an environmental group revealed Tuesday.

Hospitals may be clean and sterile but that is not to say that hospital employees are safe from health risks. A survey conducted by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) suggests there is a link between hospital nurses’ exposure to chemicals, pharmaceuticals and radiation and serious health problems such as cancer, asthma, miscarriages and children with birth defects, the public watchdog said in a press release Tuesday.

The group worked in collaboration with the American Nurses Association, Health Care Without Harm and the Environmental Health Education Center at the University of Maryland School of Nursing, and says this survey is the first of its kind.

Although extremely detailed, its authors note that the survey was not a controlled, statistically designed study.

Substances such as residues from medications, anesthetic gases, sterilizing and disinfecting chemicals, latex, cleaning chemicals, hand and skin disinfection products, and even mercury escaping from broken medical equipment are all potential culprits, the EWG says.

People who eat a lot of red and processed meats have a higher risk of developing several types of cancer, including lung cancer and colorectal cancer, according to a new study from the National Cancer Institute.

For the study, researchers examined data from a large U.S. diet and health study, which began in 1995 and involved 500,000 men and women ages 50-71.

The research was conducted by Amanda Cross and colleagues at the National Cancer Institute and is published in the latest issue of PLoS Medicine.

This is what the study found.

People who ate the most red were 25 percent more likely to be diagnosed with bowel, liver, lung and esophageal cancer during the eight-year study, compared to those who consumed small amounts of this type of meat.

The researchers also found that people who ate the most processed meats, including bacon, ham and lunch meat, had a 20 percent higher risk of colorectal cancer and a 16 percent higher risk of lung cancer.

December 14th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in Health by dreamluverz

face transplant before and after A French woman who two years ago became the first person to receive a face transplant has recovered with remarkably good aesthetic results and has gradually regained normal skin sensation and control of her facial muscles, doctors reported yesterday in the first detailed account of her progress.

Isabelle Dinoire, who at age 38 lost her lips, cheeks, chin and most of her nose when she was mauled by her dog, now blends into crowds and attends parties comfortably with the face she got from a 46-year-old brain-dead donor. Surgeons attached the face like a mask in a landmark 15-hour surgery.
